For Gilly

A friend of mine is hurting so.
I am hurting with her on this day.
I wish to her I could go.
And hug her tight to me and say;
"It will be alright. You will see."
But words will not dull the pain,
And my tears fall like rain,
For nothing should hurt to this degree.


If the tears in my heart could;
they would wash the pain away.
But even if, try they would
nothing could hold the pain at bay'
For today she lost a child
and with her I do grieve
but in my heart I believe
She will see her baby smile.
One day in heaven above
surrounded by the ones she loves.
